The new map design features lines and angles that are more geographically accurate, and he made sure it was just as easy to read the map on a screen as it is in print. The former map was previously designed by Harry Beck, who designed it before the London Underground system expanded. Noad’s redesign includes a new typeface, and uses 30 and 60-degree angles, where Beck’s design included only 45-degree angle, which got overlapped and confusing once new stations and infrastructure were added.
