The Earth turns without me.
The Earth turns about one degree of longitude every 4 minutes. In Switzerland, this amounts to 1158km/h, supersonic at altitudes above 4'000m AMSL.
Flying westward at said speed in a Swiss Air Force Tiger F–5, we didn't turn with the Earth from Glarus to Lucerne. We documented the standstill by taking a picture of the Sun during those four minutes, which resulted in a point.
